YORKTON - Coming out of the SJHL Christmas break the Yorkton Terriers are continuing their winning ways.
After back-to-back wins in a home-and-home set with Melville to extend a winning streak to seven games, the Terriers hosted Estevan at the Westland Insurance Arena Friday.
Yorkton opened the scoring early as Keenan Ingram scored 1:12 in.
The Bruins tied things on a Kent Moors goal, but a powerplay effort from Dustin Renas gave the home side a 2-1 lead headed to the dressing room after 20-minuted of play.
In the second the teams traded singles.
Ingram scored his second of the night to give Yorkton a 3-1 lead, but a goal by Estevan’s Kaelen Whittingham made it 3-2 through 40-minutes of action.
In the third Ingram again scored the first goal of the period – this time only 35-seconds into the frame -- to complete a hat trick.
David Coyle scored at 3:17 and the Terriers led 5-2.
A goal by Luke Hogan on the powerplay put the Bruins back in the game 5-3.
But Ingram with his fourth of the contest and Coyle with his second rounded out a 7-3 Terrier win – their eighth straight victory.
Ethan Farrow was in net for the Terriers facing 30-shots for the win.
Benjamin Polhill started in net for the Bruins allowing five goals on 23 shots. Zach Shaughnessy faced five shots allowing a pair of goals.
The Terriers are back in action on home ice with Weyburn the scheduled visitors for a 3 p.m. start.
