Terriers go 1–1 against Ice Wolves

Set to face the Millionaires in back-to-back matches Oct. 13 and 14.

YORKTON – The Yorkton Terriers hosted the La Ronge Ice Wolves in consecutive games Oct. 4th and 7th taking a win and a loss.

In game one of two, the Terriers failed to score in the first and second periods of the game, seeing the Ice Wolves take a 3–0 lead with two power play goals to start the third period.

Terrier Dylan Ruptash was the first to put one on the board for the team at 11:18 of the third, assisted by Cade Kennedy and Clay Sleeva.

Minutes later, Kennedy would follow suit, scoring at 13:18, assisted by Quintin Unreiner and again by Sleeva.

The Ice Wolves rounded out their score with an empty netter at 19:55 and took home a 4–2 win.

Caleb Allen was in net for the Terriers, taking on 14 shots and blocking 11.

Topher Chirico was in net for the win, taking on 42 shots.

The Terriers again hosted the Ice Wolves at Westland Arena Oct. 7 hoping to learn from their mistakes and shut down the visiting team.

Sleeva was the first to score at 13:55 of the first period, assisted by Jaron Desnoyers and Ruptash.

Later, at 5:48 of the seconds, Terrier Ty Broten put another on the board for the team.

The Ice Wolves lone goal came by way of Jacob Cossette at 5:39 of the third period.

Blake Sittler was in net for the win, taking on 34 shots.

Topher Chirico was in net for the Ice Wolves, also facing 34 shots.

The Terriers played host to the Flin Flon Bombers on Oct. 10 but no scores were available at the time of writing.

The Terriers will face the Melville Millionaires in back-to-back matches, hosting the team Oct. 13 and visiting Melville Oct. 14.
