YORKTON – Suncrest College recently hosted two showcase events, aimed at fostering partnerships with government and municipal leaders to strengthen communities through higher education.

Held last week in Melfort and Yorkton, the events featured discussions with Members of Parliament, the Minister of Advanced Education, local СÀ¶ÊÓƵs and mayors. Key topics included the college's economic and social contributions to the region, as well as strategies to enhance collaboration and communication in support of student success. Attendees also explored Suncrest College’s programs and initiatives tailored to evolving industry needs.

“Post-secondary institutions play a vital role in developing skilled work forces and driving economic growth,” said Alison Dubreuil, President and CEO of Suncrest College. 

“These events provided valuable opportunities to ensure our programs align with industry and partner needs," added Dubreuil.

Guests participated in facility tours, gaining insight into programs and resources that aid students in their academic and career goals.

As part of its 2025-30 strategic planning, Suncrest College continues engaging with First Nation and Métis partners to foster similar dialogue and collaboration. The college remains committed to adapting and innovating to meet the workforce development needs of today.
