YORKTON – The Sacred Heart High School Senior Boys Volleyball Team participated in the 4A boys regional volleyball playoffs in Humboldt, Nov. 18.
The playoffs were divided into two pools: Pool A included Melfort, Humboldt, and Tisdale, while Pool B comprised Melville, Sacred Heart, and La Ronge.
Out of the six teams, only four would progress to the Provincial Playoffs. Sacred Heart’s first match was against La Ronge, which they won convincingly with scores of 25-13 and 25-12.
However, the Saints were defeated by Melville in their next match with scores of 14-25 and 19-25. This resulted in La Ronge СÀ¶ÊÓƵ eliminated, while Sacred Heart and Melville advanced to the provincials.
In the semi-final, Sacred Heart was defeated by Melfort with scores of 15-25 and 16-25. Despite the loss, the team, along with Melfort, Melville, and Humboldt, advanced to the Provincial Playoffs, which will be held in Melfort Nov. 24-25.
“We have a young team and it will be a great experience for them to push their game action at the provincial level. The team has shown continuous growth all season and their hard work has paid off," said Coach Curtis Moen, reflecting on the team’s performance.
