YORKTON – Paws and Claws Animal Rescue held a three day garage sale Oct. 3-5 to raise funds for vet bills.
A barbecue and adoption day were held on the final day of the sale.
Paws and Claws President, Karen Renton, told СÀ¶ÊÓƵ the event raised more than $700 on its first day, which Renton said will "put a dent" in the costs of the vet bills.
With the winter fast approaching, Renton said the organization continues to seek volunteers.
"We're always looking for volunteers. We're always looking for foster homes. Now that it's getting cold out there's a lot of animals out there needing foster homes and to be adopted as well," said Renton.
As well as the garage sale, Renton said the nonprofit is currently running a 50/50 draw, offering cash prizes of $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 if tickets sell out.
"Proceeds go to vet bills as well. The last few years we have sold out," said Renton.
And the organization continues to offer adoption days every Saturday at their 40, Second Avenue location.
