YORKTON – The Health Foundation's annual Gala was a resounding success, raising $41,892 at the Oct. 19th event.

The funds will go towards the purchase of a new chemistry analyzer for the Yorkton Regional Hospital lab, according to Diane Rusnak, Chair of The Health Foundation.

The event, attended by 340 guests, featured a presentation from Wade McNeil, Chair of the Farming for Health committee. McNeil announced that this year's Farming for Health project generated net proceeds of $203,400, bringing the 12-year total to $2,490,479.

"Strong results like this are only possible because so many people and businesses donate their time and products to help raise as much money as possible to purchase new equipment for the Yorkton Regional Hospital," said McNeil.

Rusnak praised the Gala committee for their efforts in creating a memorable event.

"The Gala itself was fabulous," said Rusnak, adding, "our committee really outdid themselves this year; the decorations and table settings were outstanding. Part of the Gala experience is the ambiance, with the beautiful decorations and the little extras that you don’t see at any other event. Gala is meant to be a special night out, and our committee works hard every year to create something special and memorable for our guests."

Over its 27-year history, the gala event has raised $790,492, all of which has been used to purchase medical equipment for healthcare in the region. This year's silent auction raised $14,130, contributing to the event's success.

The Gala Evening organizing committee members include Chair Diane Rusnak, MaryAnn Trischuk, Cassidy Wagner, Sandra Ruff, Lara Veroba, Wendy Zaporosky, Kara Molnar, Jenna Neidzielski, Cindy Dutchak, Dale Brock, and Debbie Blommaert.
