Paul Mattis peacefully went to his Lord and Savior the morning of October 19, 2015 in Saskatoon, SK. Paul was born in Lemberg, SK in 1938, and the family moved to a farm in Kinbrae area (Zeneta) in 1948. In 1963, after working at the IMC K1 mine, he bought his own farm, his true passion aside from fishing. Paul worked various jobs in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. He took many farm mechanics classes and was a municipal counsellor. He was a hard working man who was trustworthy and loyal at whatever employment he undertook. He made friends wherever he went; no one was a stranger to him - just a friend he had not yet met. Paul was always ready to help someone, lend a tool, a piece of equipment or fix the unfix-able for a neighbour in need. In 1995 Paul married Sharon Nordin (Ecklin) and his family expanded to sons, and grandchildren. Paul absolutely adored his grandchildren. He'd dress up in a Santa suit, tell a silly tale, play Barbie, save treasures for them, build them a playhouse or teach them the value of fishing and camping with those you love. Paul was predeceased by his parents; Ida and Reinhold, his brother, Alfred, and sister-in-law Carol. He is survived by wife Sharon, step-sons Stacy and Brent and their families, as well as his sister, Evelyn Ecklin (Stuart) and their family, sister-in-law Laura, their children and grandchildren. Donations to the MS Research or Alzheimer Research would be appreciated. "A goood man" - have a glass of "Tea" and a laugh at the good times. Happy fishing in heaven Grandpa. The family wishes to thank those who called and visited in his time of illness. We thank the wonderful staff at Sherbrooke Community Centre. You are the best. As well, we thank you all for your expressions of condolences in thoughts and prayers, words and deeds. It meant so much and we are so grateful. He lives on in our hearts. God bless you all.
