Dolores Alvina MacDonald unexpectedly died on July 12, 2014, in her home in Vancouver. She is survived by three of her four children, Dawn (Joe), Forrest ( Helen) and Laird. Daughter Lauree passed away in 2009. Dolores was born in Fone Hill, SK to Alex and Osa MacDonald. After elementary school, Dolores attended Yorkton Collegiate Institute where she was involved in every aspect of school life. Upon completing high school, she enrolled in nursing. However, she left nursing to marry Morley Lockhart and together they raised four children. Both Morley and Dolores were very involved in the Yorkton community. Dolores was a member of the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Assoc. and developed the Red Cross swimming program for the city. In 1999, Morley and Dolores moved to Regina where Dolores worked for Parks and Recreation and later for Wascana Centre as a special events coordinator. Following the end of her marriage to Morley, Dolores spent 20 years with John Galloway in both Regina and Vancouver. Dolores lived an active and positive life. She was well read, well travelled and well loved by all who knew her. A celebration of her life was held at the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club (where she was a member for 25 years) on July 19. Donations in her name to the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling club would be appreciated by family and fellow bowlers.
