Emil Fiege was born on July 5, 1931 at home in the Orkney District, the son of Fred and Martha (nee Krieger) Fiege. Emil married Rita Schultz on July 17, 1954. They were blessed with three children, Kelly, Debra and Norman. The family farmed and Emil also worked at various jobs. Emil enjoyed hunting with his sons, relatives and lifetime friends. He loved the outdoors, wildlife and working with his machinery. He was happiest when working, and was always ready to give a helping hand. Emil cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and his great-granddaughter. They will always remember him for his genuine, kind and caring heart. Emil will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rita; his children, Kelly (Candace), Debra and Norman (Laurel); his grandchildren, Angelina (Rob), Josh, Crystal (Adam); his Great-Granddaughter, Emilya; his brother, Arthur (Joyce); his sisters, Eldi (Ken) Just, Vi Engel and Hilda Sonnenberg as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Emil was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Bertha. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Kirsch of Heritage Baptist Church officiating. The organist, Joyce Paul, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Church in the Wildwood" and "In the Garden". Emil's grandson, Joshua Skalicky, read his grandfather's obituary. The Cremation Committal followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Emil's son, Norman Fiege serving as the Urn Bearer.
