John Victor Ferridge was born in Maple Creek, SK on June 19, 1933 to May and Charles Ferridge. He was baptized on April 1, 1945 in Swift Current. He grew up in the Swift Current district and after completing high school took a job as a gas fitter with Hugas. While on a job in Yorkton, he met Cleone Poier. They were married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on February 4, 1956. John and Cleone moved to North Battleford where their first son, Gerry was born. John continued to work for Hugas and after it became Canadian Propane he accepted a management position in Meadow Lake. While living in Meadow Lake, the family welcomed the births of Don and Lynne . In 1967, the Ferridge family relocated to Yorkton where John worked with Remai Construction. He started his own construction company, Ferrcon Homes in 1974. He loved working with his hands and passed this on to his sons, who became part of the family business. Over the years John was active with curling, bowling, golfing and gardening. He spent many years on the church board of both Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Meadow Lake and in Yorkton. John was one of the people who was instrumental in designing and developing the "New Church" building in Yorkton as well as the columbarium on the Church property. John and Cleone spent many happy years together, as the business and their children continued to grow and prosper. Family camping trips to the mountains were always a highlight. John was devastated in 1999 when Cleone passed after spending several years suffering from Scleroderma. His children were happy to see his purpose for living return when he started spending time with Evelyn Dressler. His retirement allowed him to move to Saskatoon. John and Evelyn were married on June 3rd, 2006 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saskatoon. They spent time travelling, 小蓝视频 involved in the church, staying active on their condo board and of course meeting for coffee with their many friends. John's tool belt was not retired as he continued to fix and maintain their condo building as well as helping family and friends. John had surgery and chemotherapy treatments in 2011 for his first bout with cancer and then after a short period of recovery continued to do the things he loved. A loving and beloved Grampa, hugging his children, grandchildren and then great grandchildren all were very important to John. He remained active until the cancer returned in 2014. Surrounded by his loving family, John left his earthly home and went to join his Lord and Saviour in Eternal Life on May 14, 2014. John was predeceased by his wife, Cleone; his parents, May and Charles Ferridge and a brother, Alan Ferridge. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, his wife, Evelyn Dressler of Saskatoon, SK; his son, Gerald Ferridge of Ebenezer, SK and his children, Aaron of Toronto, ON, Craig and Chantelle of Kelowna, BC and Brandon of Calgary, AB, Dillon and Chelsea of Yorkton, SK; a son, Don (Gail) of Ebenezer, SK and their children, Jesse (Helen) of Ebenezer, SK, Maeghan (Craig) Kuemper of Yorkton, SK; a daughter, Lynne (Don) Hudjack of Swift Current, SK and their children, Ilicia (Scott) Wasko and their children, Dade and Cori Wasko all of Saskatoon, SK, Laura (Jonathan) Cutler and their children, Riley and Brayden Cutler all of Cranbrook, BC. He is also survived by a sister, Beulah (Hugh) Caswell of Swift Current, SK as well as many other relatives and a host of dear friends. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, May 19, 2014 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Yorkton, SK with Reverend Luanne Hrywkiw officiating. The organist, Judy Berg, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "All Things Bright and Beautiful", "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", "Praise My Soul, The King of Heaven" and the "Nunc Dimittis". Words of tribute were shared by John's grandchildren, Maeghan, Dillon, Laura, Jesse and Ilicia. The Committal Service followed in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Columbarium with John's children, Lynne, Gerry and Don serving as the urn bearers.
