Scott Derbowka was born on September 27, 1973, the son of Ken and Pat Derbowka at the Yorkton Regional Hospital, Yorkton, SK. He was raised in the Springside area along with his brothers, Brent and Clayton. He attended Springside School, Yorkdale Central and graduated from the Yorkton Regional High School in 1991. Through his high school years, he worked at summer jobs for local farmers and Peebles Machine Shop. In 1991, Scott met Heidi Carruthers and they were married in September of 1993. They settled in Yorkton and Scott worked as a plumbers' assistant at Hancock Plumbing. Scott took two years at SIAST enrolled in the plumbing trade program but 小蓝视频 away from home proved to be to much so he left the program and returned home to work for Yorkton Towing. In October of 1996, his first baby girl was born and Victoria stole his heart the second he saw her. He couldn't wait to finish his shift so he could get home to read her a story and let her fall asleep in his arms. Long days and continuously 小蓝视频 on call made him decide to go work at the Holiday Inn as their maintenance person. He quickly became head of the department and saw the hotel through many changes and name changes. In June 2000, his second little girl, Jacqueline blessed his life with her beautiful face. It suddenly dawned on him that maybe his gun collection needed to get a bit bigger! In 2008 after his mom was diagnosed with cancer, Scott left his job at Best Western to help his dad which then lead to him establishing his own renovation business, "S and H Renovations". Being his own boss allowed him to pursue all his favourite activities. Scott loved to hunt, fish, quad, camp and relax on the pontoon. He enjoyed all of these things with his Dad, brothers and countless friends. As his girls grew he couldn't wait to share all of those things with them. They often joke that they were born on the back of a quad. There wasn't a weekend that the Derbowka family wasn't together. Heidi, Victoria and Jacqueline were his whole world. He loved teaching them all he knew and was thrilled when they would succeed. Scott was so happy and yet a little sad that Victoria is about to graduate and begin a new chapter and that Jacqueline is about to enter the always exciting high school years. Scott was predeceased by his mother, Patricia; his grandparents, William and Mildred Derbowka; his grandfather, Peter Medwid and his aunt, Laurette Derbowka. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, his adoring wife, Heidi; his beautiful daughters, Victoria and Jacqueline; his father, Ken and Sonia; his brothers, Brent (Shelley) of Springside, SK and their children, Rebecca (Devan), Brenden and Austin; his brother, Clayton (Colleen) of Nipawin, SK and their children, MacKenzie and Daylen; Heidi's parents, Beverly and Ken Carruthers; his sister-in-law, Bethany (Jason) Fichtner and their children, Jordanne, James, Joshua and Danielle as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. A Service to Celebrate Scott's Life was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home, Yorkton, SK with Pastor Bob Ratzliff officiating. Scott's oldest niece, Rebecca Derbowka shared a poetic tribute. Words of tribute and eulogy were shared by family friend, Dale Audette and by Scott's daughters, Victoria and Jacqueline Derbowka. Special taped music selections included, "See You Again" by Carrie Underwood, "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw, "When the Sun Goes Down" by Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker and "Please Remember Me" by Tim McGraw. The Cremation Committal followed in the Springside Town Cemetery with Jason Schick, Jason Fichtner, Dale Audette, Trent Werner, Ed Ockochinski, Paul Valstar, Kordell Roberts, Andrew Sedley and Devan Petruk serving as casket bearers. The Urn Bearer was Scott's father, Ken Derbowka. Friends so wishing may make donations in Scott's memory to the Victoria and Jacqueline Derbowka Trust Fund (donations are also 小蓝视频 accepted at the Royal Bank, Yorkton, SK). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
