STURGIS - The Sturgis Composite School was very honoured to have over 12 pieces of exercise workout equipment donated which helped to establish a workout room for students of all ages. Chuck Armstrong, originally of Sturgis, felt the need to give back to the school in which he attended and graduated from in 1970.

“The donation was extremely appreciated and the school was overwhelmed to get this huge donation. The students have begun to utilize the equipment before, after and during school hours. It is an honour and privilege to have received the donation,” said Nathan Hrynchyshyn, gym teacher.

“I have strong ties to Sturgis and was always involved in the sports programs in the school growing up,” said Armstrong. “My parents were both school teachers and I always loved the community and had strong ties to the school. The top-of- the=line equipment came from one of the gyms in Saskatoon that I had owned and operated, and when I shut the business down I kept some of the better equipment. I had stored it in my garage but I sold my house and downsized, and what better gift than to give the equipment to the school. It was an honour and a meant a lot to me to be able to give this gift. I know it will be appreciated and used to its fullest. In all actuality it means more to me than to the school, and to be able to contribute to the physical and mental health of the students is huge,” he concluded.
