On Saturday, June 24, four students from Yorkton Martial Arts Training Center competed at the Saskatchewan Martial Arts Association Provincial Championships in Regina. Students must compete and place in a minimum of three tournaments during the regular season and be ranked in the top ten of their division to qualify for a provincial championship events.The YMATC athletes represented the city well, and brought home some impressive titles. Dante Roodt is the provincial champion in weapon sparring.Ane Roodt is the provincial champion in forms & point sparring, and the runner up in weapon sparring.Isaac Forster is the provincial champion in point sparring and weapon sparring, and the runner up in forms.Pictured left to right: Dante Roodt, Ane Roodt, Trey Roodt, Master Forster, Isaac Forster as they show their winnings back at home.
