Under-13 Ice Hawks move forward in hockey provincials

Decisive win means advancement into the provincial scene for the young Ice Hawks.

OUTLOOK - One of Outlook's younger hockey teams is shining pretty bright out there on the ice.

The Under-13 Outlook Ice Hawks have been competing in Under-13 'C' Provincials action, and on Friday night, February 28, the team welcomed the Hudson Bay Hunters to the Jim Kook Rec Plex in order to play Game Two of the series, with the previous encounter ending in a 7-7 tie game.

On this night, however, the ice belonged solely to the hosting squad as the Ice Hawks racked up goal after goal, showing their hometown crowd and the opposing team's supporters that they wanted this win on their home ice and seemed driven to move forward in the provincial rankings.

By the time the game was over, Outlook had decisively won at a score of 11-1, which means the Ice Hawks will find themselves matched up against the winner of the series between Maidstone and Unity, with a date and location still to be determined.

Meanwhile, the Under-13 squad wasn't the only team vying for their shot in provincials, as the Under-15 Ice Hawks are also in the 'C' ranking hunt. After tying things up with the Porcupine Plain Park Posse at 4-4 in Game One, the two teams met for Game Two on Sunday, March 2 at the Jim Kook Rec Plex, where Outlook was victorious. The Under-15 Hawks advance, and will meet up next against the Maidstone Jets, with dates to be determined.
