OUTLOOK - An event called a “Celebration of Music” certainly lived up to its title May 13 when a large crowd gathered to hear a wide range of music celebrating different instruments and musical genres. Event organizers Kristen Friggstad, Lila de Waal and Sheri Lovrod were thrilled with the outcome. “It was a delightful evening,” Sheri remarked, “and a tremendous display of the variety of talent of all ages.”
Bea Adelman hosted the event and brought a personal touch to each introduction. The program included musical theatre numbers by Trason Ridgewell, Abby Calvin, Izzy Theoret, and the cast of Equinox Theatre’s upcoming production “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. Jenna Fleck presented a vocal solo, accompanying herself on guitar.
Humorous and heartwarming Speech Arts performances were given by Caleb Turton, Nicholas Turton, Jonah Turton, and Floyd Childerhose.
Violin solos were played by Nora Johnson, Oscar LeBlanc and Annika Friggstad, while Karl LeBlanc played the cello.
Andreas LeBlanc shared a song on alto saxophone, and the bells rang out with the LCBI Handbell Choir’s performance.
At the piano were Kiera Dingle, Anastasia Okhrimenko, Jorah Ziegler, Birgitte Friggstad and Jossalyn Ziegler.
The evening was organized to give performers an opportunity to showcase their talent and bring the community together for a night of great music. It was also an opportunity to donate to the Outlook Refugee Resettlement project. The crowd that gathered certainly showed their support for that initiative in giving $2776.95.
The committee is grateful for the response to the Celebration of Music. Sheri said, “We want to say thank you to the musicians for so willingly participating, and the community for coming out and so generously supporting the refugee resettlement project.”
