OUTLOOK - A spring ID camp held in Outlook last week showed a promising start to the creation of a female under-22 hockey roster.
Held on Tuesday, April 11 at the Jim Kook Rec Plex, the daylong event brought out 19 participants who were evaluated on their skills in the hopes of making the town's newest hockey team for female under-22 players.
On the ice with the would-be players were Steve Kook, Dan Erlandson, and Sam Ridgewell, and lending their expertise off the ice were Nikki Stewart, Noel Kingwell and Dwayne Horner, who provided evaluations on the players.
Kook, who recently marked his 400th game coaching behind the bench, is the head coach of the U of S Huskies female hockey team. Erlandson is a former assistant coach of the same team, and Ridgewell is a current player of the game, manning the goal post for the Buffalo Beauts in the Premier Hockey Federation.
Another camp is expected to be held this fall.
