OUTLOOK - The fall season brings with it cooler air, colors of orange and yellow, and in communities across Canada, the annual Terry Fox Run that raises money for cancer research.
On Friday, October 14, the town of Outlook got into the spirit of things when the school community council of Outlook High School organized a special glow run event where participants could either run, walk or roll. Registration took place at the Bounty Theatre and by the time the 5:30 pm start time was coming around, a sizable crowd had formed.
After some words of encouragement were said, as well as some history of the late Terry Fox and his legendary mission, the participants were off with some running, some walking, and some biking down Railway Avenue en route to the designated path. Waiting for participants when they returned were cookies and refreshments, and the Outlook Locker Plant was also on-site with their food truck for anyone wanting a hot meal.
With the sizable number of participants, coupled with the cooperative weather and sunny backdrop, on top of the fact that it was a Friday afternoon, this year's Terry Fox event in Outlook seemed to bring with it feelings of positivity and community partnership as everyone was in on the mission of the day together.
