OUTLOOK - The federal government recently announced more than $36 million in contributions and loans through the Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) to help build and repair nearly 800 affordable homes in the province.
As well, the Town of Outlook will benefit from major funding that will see housing units built over the next few years through the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF).
The announcement was made by the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs and Minister responsible for PrairiesCan and CanNor on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities.
As part of the agreement, the federal government will help fast-track a combined total of over 140 housing units over the next three years, and the work will help spur the construction of more than 560 homes over the next decade.
This agreement includes the Buffalo River Dene Nation, the City of Humboldt, the Town of Moosomin, and the Town of Outlook, which will receive $907,000 to help provide 23 expected units over the next three years, and bringing that number up to 69 over the next decade, according to a government media release. The funds will be used to support at least 36 units that in the midst of 小蓝视频 built in Outlook over the next two years.
The funding agreements will provide a combined total of close to $5.5 million to reduce barriers to building the housing that people need.
