OUTLOOK - The riverside community of Outlook has achieved something that will no doubt grab the attention of other small towns across the province and probably nationwide.
In just over one year's time, through dedicated fundraising efforts, networking opportunities, and pledges from local business owners for services offered, the new fire hall for the Outlook-Rudy Fire & Rescue team has reached its intended building goal of $1.2 million.
John Linsley, one of the fundraising campaign committee members, shared the news on social media last week.
"We've hit $1.2 Million and did it in just over a year!" he said. "Thank you Outlook; thank you Rudy. When the new ORFR Firehall is built, we'll finally have room for our ladder truck and a new, bigger volume pumper truck. Support our volunteer ORFR Firefighters."
Having reported on the campaign hitting the $1 million mark just a few weeks ago in February, it goes to show the sheer speed and success in which this fundraising drive has operated.

With the $1.2 million for the new building having now been reached, the next goal in the campaign is to raise another $800,000 for a new pumper truck for the fire crew to combat emergencies such as grass and combine fires. The hope among everyone is that the much-discussed tariffs don't have a negative impact on the forecasted costs.
Gerry Gross and Bree Campbell are two of the other key people involved in generating donations and collecting funds for the exciting project. In addition, generous donors and local business owners are СÀ¶ÊÓƵ highlighted on the Town of Outlook's official website with a donor recognition list, highlighting the sheer volume of people who are supporting the project and showcasing the success of the project thus far.
Western Sales out of Outlook and Tuberosum Technologies out of Broderick will have bays named after them with their generosity, having supported the project at the $100,000 to $499,999 threshold. As well, Platinum sponsors such as Barrich Farms and Wright Construction have added to the fundraising drive's colossal success at the $50,000 to $99,999 range. Further sponsorship at Gold, Silver and Bronze show more support from people and businesses in the local area, and the entire document can be read on the Town's website.
Construction on the new fire hall is expected to begin this spring.
