Outlook bows down to Royals in football action

Outlook welcomed Rosetown in their season home opener.

Another season of six-man football has started in Outlook, welcoming fans back to the stands on Friday afternoon, September 24 as the Outlook Blues hosted their home opener against the Rosetown Royals at R.B. Lyons Field.

This matchup pitting the neighboring town rivals against one another saw a good-sized crowd and some impressive opening moves by the Blues as they recovered a Royals fumble at the 10:21 mark in the first quarter.  Rosetown would reply back with an interception made by #7 Nate Gowen at 8:51, but Outlook #2 Jake Philips answered right back with another fumble recovery just nine seconds later.  The Blues would retain this momentum as #6 Reed Mclachlan made a heck of a run down the field at 6:37.  Outlook kept control over the next few minutes, which resulted in #12 Carter Edgar making a nice run downfield to nab the first touchdown of the afternoon at the 2:34 mark, with the convert 小蓝视频 good.  To end the first batch of minutes in this game, Edgar made a great-looking catch on a long-haul pass, instilling confidence in the both the Blues and hometown fans.

In response to the well-played skills of the hosting Blues, the visiting Royals began a comeback in the second quarter, maintaining control of both the ball and the field.  At the 8:12 mark, Rosetown nabbed their first touchdown with #40 Mitchell Robbie running it in, convert 小蓝视频 good.  The Royals would keep it up, with #88 Jacob Fehr scoring the team's second touchdown with 2:15 left, though the convert was no good.  That didn't seem to deter the visiting squad though, as Rosetown #21 Cailean Fehr intercepted an Outlook pass at the end of the game's first half.

The Royals would maintain solid control in the third, with #88 Fehr dashing downfield in a good run near the goal at 8:32.  This was followed up by another touchdown by Rosetown at 7:56, with the convert 小蓝视频 good.  The Royals would keep up their scoring ways in the remaining few minutes of the quarter, as #5 Mathew Morris nabbed a touchdown at 3:21 with the convert 小蓝视频 good, and #88 Fehr scoring another one with 34 seconds left, convert 小蓝视频 good.  It seemed as if control over the field belonged to the visitors.

However, Outlook responded in kind when the fourth quarter began, wrestling away some of that control from Rosetown.  Less than a minute in, Blues #12 Edgar nabbed his second touchdown of the day at 11:03, convert 小蓝视频 good.  Outlook would hustle and keep up the momentum, as the Blues recovered a Royals fumble at 10:29.  At the 8:47 mark, it appeared as though Outlook #6 Mclachlan hurt his leg and he left the field, though he looked to be okay.  At 7:18, Royals #96 Jonathan Kampen tore off on a mad dash downfield, enabling #88 Fehr to nab another touchdown for the visitors, though the convert wasn't good.  However, Fehr would go on to score once again at the 4:20 mark, this time with the convert 小蓝视频 good.  Things would swing back around to Outlook's favor as the clock ticked down, with the Blues #12 Edgar making one final touchdown with 35 seconds left, though the convert was no good.

The final score of the day was a 52-22 win for Rosetown.

The Outlook Blues once again play host in six-man action this Friday afternoon, October 1 when they welcome the Clavet Cougars.
