OUTLOOK - If you got a pair of skates, you can strap them on and hit the ice either inside the Jim Kook Rec Plex in Outlook or on the outdoor skating rink just behind the building.
And if you'd rather try your hands at something that requires a little more finesse here and there, you can head over to the new Crokicurl ice sheet that was recently installed across from the outdoor rink.
Crokicurl is a combination of curling and the board game Crokinole, in which players take turns flicking small discs on a circular board in order to score the highest, depending on where the disc lands on the board. In the Crokicurl version, rocks are used instead of discs, and players try to score points by throwing rocks into the center of the ice where the circles are marked.
The hybrid sport was created in 2016 in Winnipeg and since that time, it has taken off and grown in popularity, with ice sheets 小蓝视频 constructed all over Saskatchewan, as well as in larger areas such as Calgary and Toronto.
With supplies provided by Riverbend Co-op, the work to construct Outlook's own eye-grabbing ice attraction was carried out by Parks and Recreation staff with the Town of Outlook, as well as the local fire department.
The public is invited to go and try it out whenever they feel like a game, and Riverbend will be hosting an afternoon of activities on Family Day on Monday, February 20, which will includes games of Crokicurl, the rink ice will be open, as well as the bowling lanes, and sleigh rides will also be available, as well as lunch and snacks.
