OUTLOOK - A high number of local people from Outlook, Broderick, Strongfield, Loreburn, Elbow, and other communities that dot the regional area were bestowed a special honour on Friday, January 27.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal was given to a group of exceptional individuals who call the constituency of Arm River home. Together with the Honorable Tim McLeod, local 小蓝视频 Dana Skoropad presented the medal to people who have dedicated their time and effort to bettering their home communities.

The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal was created to celebrate the 70th anniversary year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Accession to the Throne. The medal is a tangible way for the province of Saskatchewan to honour Her Majesty for her service to Canada, and a total of 7,000 medals are to be awarded at ceremonies held throughout the province during the Platinum Jubilee year. The medal program is the focus of the Government of Saskatchewan’s Jubilee year commemorations.

Local recipients of the medal include: John McPhail, Rick Pederson, Maureen Applin, and Bob Reid of Outlook; Dennis Fuglerud of Broderick; Barbara Glubis of Strongfield; Doug Vollmer and Vanessa Tastad of Loreburn; Joanne Brochu, Colleen Hoppenreys, Brent Griffin, and Joel Perry of Elbow; Sandra Bathgate, Al Klassen, Ken Galloway, and Grant Berger of Central Butte; Penny Gustafson, Terry Brennan, and Kegan Summers of Riverhurst; and Leslie Kroeger of Hanley.
