OUTLOOK - After a lengthy absence due to COVID-19 restrictions and safety precautions, LCBI hosted its 43rd annual Lady Bison Basketball Tournament for the first time since 2019, bringing five senior girls rosters to Outlook to take part in the two-day event.
Welcoming the Unity Warriors, Saskatoon Christian Royals, Herbert Laurels, Rosthern Junior College, and Kenaston Kodiaks to their court, the tournament got underway on Friday, January 14 with Kenaston matched against the hosting LCBI, with the Lady Bisons coming out on top at a score of 51-40.
That win would slot LCBI up against the Unity Warriors on Saturday morning, but evidently the visiting squad had a few more tricks up their sleeve as they commanded the lead and retained it throughout each quarter, ultimately defeating the Lady Bisons at a score of 53-21.
LCBI would go on to find themselves playing against the roster from Herbert on Saturday afternoon, displaying some impressive skills and managing to hold the Laurels off by a sizable distance on the scoreboard, maintaining a lead that only grew throughout the game. By the time all was said and done, LCBI was victorious at a score of 62-15.
The final game of the event was played between Rosthern Junior College and the Unity Warriors, with the latter going on to victory at a score of 59-41 in a fairly back and forth game.
The Lady Bisons, coached by Bryan Balaton and Kristie Sincennes, are comprised of Danielle Reimer, Kellee Chubak, Jane Wilson, Keira Long, Jenna Fleck, Olivia Hefner, Kate Wilson, Rebecca Ziegler, Holly Nelson, Kenya Reddekopp, Kaitlin Wright, Olivia Jacobson, and Leah Haugen.
