About 1,000 persons attended the seventh annual Kamsack Indoor Rodeo which featured 188 competitors, said to have been the most ever in the rodeo鈥檚 history.
Raising money for the new Kamsack Swimming Pool which was scheduled to open to the public the following May, Rose Fleet, Kamsack鈥檚 events co-ordinator, was preselling season passes by attaching bright yellow plastic ducks to the certificates to have been used to purchase the passes.
Norm Vertefeuille, a member of the Qu鈥橝ppelle Valley Horse Pull Club, received a winner鈥檚 prize following a competition held during the Kamsack rodeo.
Former resident Roberta Materie of Saskatoon, daughter of Erla Rudd of Kamsack, donated about $11,000 worth of socks and underwear for victims of the hurricane in Louisianna. The donation included 2,050 pairs of underwear, 650 pairs of socks, 80 packages of feminine hygiene products, 100 brassieres and miscellaneous items including stuffed animals and shampoo.
John Fernuik and Ross St. John were nominated to fill the aldermanic seat on town council that had been vacated by Tom Tomochko in April.
A total of 86 youths were registered to play in the six minor hockey teams that were organized at the Cote First Nation for the 2005-06 season.
