The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost again on Sunday afternoon, making it four straight defeats; but nobody really seems all that concerned, aside from the rabid fans. My concern is that the things the Riders do well, they continue to do well and the things they don't do so well in, they haven't shown even a little bit of improvement. If they were to lose every game the rest of the way, the fans will get what they want and that's wholesale changes in the coaching staff. In this case, the fans are right. Changes are needed. If the Riders regroup and advance to the Grey Cup, then I think you'll see the coaching staff return with very little change, if any, and we'll be whining about the team all over again come this time next year.
Kirk Weinmaster is fairly well known for 小蓝视频 a non-Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and I think it gave him great pleasure to see the Riders lose on Sunday afternoon followed by spotting about a dozen Halloween costumes centered about the Roughrider theme. He joked on work on Monday, "At least Rider merchandise is good for something." I told him I also went out trick or treating as a Rider fan. Instead of putting on an expensive jersey, I simple wore a paper bag on my head.
From the 'I told you so' file: Randy Moss was released by the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. Brett Favre looks like an 86-year-old man and the Vikings are closer to the first overall draft pick then they are to winning a Super Bowl. You can't win when your two 'best' players have self-serving reasons for playing.
What kind of a human 小蓝视频 is it that hits a pedestrian while driving an SUV and then leaves the scene? This happened on Broadway Street in Yorkton on Friday night when two girls were struck and the driver (with his vehicle) fled the scene. 95% of the population will pull over and be upset if they hit someone's pet. To hit another person and just leave like it's nothing is heartless and I hope the individual is, eventually, caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Monday morning, a vehicle was pulling out of a parking lot and onto Broadway Street East when the vehicle realized it, maybe, had gone too far into traffic and decided to back up. The trouble is that yours truly was behind him. So, he backs into me. I honk the horn. He steps on the gas, cuts off four lanes of traffic on Broadway and takes off north bound. Absolutely zero courtesy. Good thing my vehicle didn't sustain any damage or I'd be fit to be tied.
Halloween seems to be losing some steam, although the newer areas of Yorkton seem to get a heavy douse of trick or treaters. In pauperville, where I live, the numbers have dwindled over the years. There are a couple of things I don't like about today's trick or treater. Number one, I dislike it when a parent carries a bag and asks for treats for the little person who isn't with them. Just fess up and admit you want candy too. And, the second thing I don't like is a trick or treater without a costume. Sure, you can tell them 'no candy', but do you really want to wipe egg off the outside of your house the next day?
Former Kamsack area resident Jeff Pister weighed in on the sick minded Russell Williams and says if Williams is going to get a $60,000 a year pension while he rots in jail, then he should also have to pay his way while he sits in prison. This is one of the better ideas I've heard on anything that has to do with the justice system.
A traffic cop or two would have come in handy for the Johnny Reid concert last week. If there was ever such a thing as traffic chaos in Yorkton, it was for this show. Honestly, I'm not a country music buff, so I don't understand the hype. Knowing that Rayanne Ottenbreit was opening for him, then I guess I can deal with it. She's worth watching.
The website I'm trumpeting this week is jango.com. If you like music and enjoy listening to random tunes, this is a must-see. Thanks to Jay Boyd for that.
