The province of Ontario made history last week when a Superior Court Judge struck down three restrictive prostitution laws. There is some concern, perhaps rightfully so, that brothels and bawdy houses will crop up all over the province and, eventually, all over the country as the laws are bound to be challenged in each province. In Yorkton, I don't think there will be much to worry about in our lifetime. The fact remains Yorkton is a very gossipy town and I can't imagine someone actually living here and 小蓝视频 a prostitute that everyone knows about and can talk about during their morning coffee chat.

I remember when VLTs and casinos started cropping up and people were lecturing about the entire country of Canada turning into a big Las Vegas. It never happened. At least not in Saskatchewan. In fact, to this day, people are still flocking to Vegas in droves while I don't know a single person who takes a holiday to a place in Canada simply because of gambling or a bachelor party.

I had a bad experience with a restaurant over the weekend. To make a long story short, the wait was way too long and the food was cold.In fact, the product was supposed to be delivered and never was. We picked it up. The discount to me as a customer was $0.I was stunned.I understand mistakes happen and, sometimes, I have given my biggest tips to people who have followed up a screw-up with good service. Another commentary on where we are headed as a society is that, for the most part, we shrug off these kinds of experiences by recognizing more similar stories are to follow. For the most part, management does the best they can, but the good workers are hard to come by. Almost every employer will tell you that.

CBC created a stir when they published a news story last week about high schools in Saskatoon allowing students who submit late assignments or plagiarize essays to re-do the task without losing marks. When the uproar became too much, a softer version came out; but it still appears as though students will be graded based on learning outcome while behaviour will not have as much of an influence.I could be wrong, but I thought school was designed to prepare people for the real world and in the real world, your behaviour reflects almost as much as your actual production.

Further evidence that you can be a victim of crime just about anywhere: a man was attacked outside a hotel in Stoughton over the weekend.

The Yorkton Terriers finished off their trade with the Winnipeg Blues of the MJHL last week when Drew McDermott was selected as the second player to be named later in the Troy Smukowich trade. Earlier, the Terriers dealt Clark Byczynski to Swan Valley in a three team deal with the Blues. Yorkton also took care of the Blues in the form of what the hockey world refers to as 'futures' at the time of the trade on January 10th. At the end of the day, Yorkton was hit pretty hard losing two all-star calibre blueliners and so-called 'futures' for a player that contributed for all of three months.Don't blame the new regime, though. They weren't in place when this trade was made and, to be honest, it's tough to blame the previous one too because desperate times call for desperate measures.

The Yorkton Harvest are in the midst of a seven game homestand and there is precious little one can do for $5 and say they've had an entertaining night out. So, I highly recommend you take it in if you enjoy any form of hockey. The Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League has future National Hockey League first rounders and there are four players from the Harvest organization that have gone on to embark on Western Hockey League careers this season (Davis Vandane, Tayler Thompson, Damon Severson, and John Neibrandt).Current NHLers Brett Carson and Nick Schultz are also Harvest alumni. This year's team is full of eager youngsters looking to make a name for themselves and they've already pulled out two third period comebacks. On Saturday night, the team scored twice on the same penalty kill in the dying minutes of regulation to salvage a draw.

Nice person mentions this week to Deanne Arnold, Jackie Roberts, Tim Bomboir, the entire Mamais family, and Don Chesney.
