Dear Editor:
So the NHL is on strike. It is the billionaire owners vs the millionaire players. I see some of them are already signing to play in the European leagues. All this means to me is that they are stealing a job from some player who is at the top of his skill level and will never have the opportunity to play in the big league. They say they are playing there to "stay in shape". In organized labour they would be known as "scabs." If it is so important to "stay in shape", let them play across the country in places like Kamloops, Red Deer, Yorkton, Brandon, Sudbury, Toronto ( where it is rumoured had a team in the sixties) Moncton, Halifax to give the people who never, or rarely see a live game, give something back to the fans, who have for years supported them and bought their overpriced merchandise. Personally the NHL lost me as a fan in their "lost year" and there is really nothing better than sitting in an arena watching Junior and minor hockey players playing their hearts out for the love of the game and cheers from family and fans. "Money Corrupts!" - just saying!
