Children in the Sturgis area have welcomed the opportunity to play ball once again in the community. It has been over six years since the ball diamonds have been utilized at the sportsgrounds.

This year the Sturgis minor ball committee established three teams of young players in T-ball, rookie and mosquito levels.

"We have so many new families with young children that enjoy learning the basics and enjoy playing ball," said Kristen Peterson. “The reorganization of the club has opened the door for many children who may have never had the chance to play."

Ryan Coleman is responsible for coaching T-ball, Kent Seerey coaches the rookies and Kipp Bayer coaches the mosquito level players.
