The Football Night in Saskatchewan minor football league fundraiser night is set for Saturday. Events included for the day include a lunch in the park at 12-2 p.m. The Jordan Matechuk football camp takes place alongside a cheerleader clinic, both are running in two separate sessions, one at 9a.m., and again at 1 p.m., said Roby Sharpe, president of Yorkton Minor Football. Later in the afternoon will be the fundraiser banquet starting at 5 p.m., at the St. Mary's banquet hall.
The Saskatchewan Ball Hockey League started up Monday night in Yorkton. They played two games at the Kinsmen Arena. The league has games scheduled each night this week at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. A schedule is available at www.saskballhockey.com.
The Yorkton Co-op and Swim Bike Run Superstore Yorkton presents the Health Foundation Charity Road Race 'Learn to Run' clinics. Designed to help the beginning runner or for those who want to prepare to walk the Charity Road Race. Clinics are held each Tuesday and Thursday beginning this week. Learn to Run clinics are held at the YRHS parking lot at 5:45 p.m., and Saturdays at 10 a.m.
The Yorkton Regional High School will be the site of two upcoming archery shoots within the next two weeks (see story on this page). The school hosts their own tournament this weekend. Over 200 kids are expected to take part, says Darren Wandy, coach of the YRHS high school team. There will be elementary school students involved as well. The event starts at 9 a.m., and runs until 4 p.m.
