The Yorkton Terriers are coming off a split in LaRonge over the weekend where they lost one and won one to tie up the Credit Union Cup finals at 1-1. The teams were scheduled to get together to play Games 3-4 this week at the Farrell Agencies Arena.


The Yorkton Terriers are coming off a split in LaRonge over the weekend where they lost one and won one to tie up the Credit Union Cup finals at 1-1.

The teams were scheduled to get together to play Games 3-4 this week at the Farrell Agencies Arena. Game 4 is slated for this evening at 7:30 p.m. Game 5 will see the teams head back up north to LaRonge Friday for the second straight Friday-night game at the Mel Haglund Arena. If necessary, a sixth game will be played here at 6 p.m., Sunday.


Registration for the start of the newest league in town is available at Hometown Source for Sports. The Saskatchewan Ball Hockey League is expanding into four new cities this spring/summer. Yorkton is among the expansion cities. The league will be called the Yorkton Ball Hockey League. Hometown Source for Sports is accpting applications for both team entries and individual entries.

More information is available at www.saskballhockey.com. All participants are encouraged to bring shin guards and a mouthguard. The hockey season is expected to run beginning the 1st of May and will run until the middle of July with 16 games guaranteed.


The Good Spirit School Division is holding their 3rd Annual track meet this week. The event runs three days starting Monday and will wrap up later this afternoon.

About 1,000 people are involved in the events. Top finishers will be invited to the Showcase Track Meet coming up this weekend. All schools from the Good Spirit School division are competing.


The Yorkton volleyball club will be hosting another tournament this weekend taking place at St. Michael's and Mc Knoll gyms.

The tournament is for the 18 U group and will include the McSweeney's Selects and the Blitz teams.


The Springer's Gymnastics Club will he holding a 2011 Invitatinnal meet taking place April 9-10 at Sacred Heart High School. For more information, contact 786-6676. Start times both days is 9:30a.m.
