The Gallagher Centre was filled with youth in motion on Sunday as they filled the curling rink with skateboards. The Skateboard Freedom Tour is hosted by Yorkton's B3 Xtreme skateboard shop. This is the second year T.C. and his son Tucker Chornomud have organized a day of skateboarding for Yorkton and area youth.

Chornomud explained they essentially moved the whole skate park from inside B3 Xtreme into the Gallagher Centre, adding a car into the mix. The indoor course allowed skateboarders to practice their moves off of ramps and over fire hydrants, down flights of stairs, rails, and of course, the hood of a car.

This year the skateboard tour invited professional groups from Vancouver to demonstrate, including the Monke Skateboard Team and the Kitsch Skateboard Team.

Professional skateboard athletes also held clinics for children to learn the basics of skateboarding.Present among the crowd were most of the "littles" of Big Brothers Big Sisters Yorkton. The organization works the door as a community service and to support the positive youth activity.People traveled from Regina, Swan River, Esterhazy and other surrounding areas to be a part of the 2010 Freedom Skateboard Tour.
