James Wilson, Regional Sales Manager for SaskTel, presented The Health Foundation with a cheque for $2,500 as part of SaskTel's continuing commitment as a presenting sponsor of the Charity Golf Classic.
With this $2,500 contribution SaskTel has now contributed a total of $30,000 to the work of The Health Foundation. "We are fortunate to have such strong support from SaskTel for our work," said Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation. "This is the 5th year SaskTel has been a presenting sponsor for the Charity Golf Classic, and in addition to СÀ¶ÊÓƵ one of the largest corporate sponsors for this event, they provide support for The Health Foundation beyond this tournament.
"This is a first class tournament," said James Wilson, "it is well run and very well supported by our local business community and by the golfers raising pledges.
In the four years we have been helping to organize this event almost $400,000 has been raised through the Charity Golf Classic and used to buy medical equipment to improve care for people throughout the Sunrise Health Region."
We like this tournament because it is efficient, with 100% of the pledges raised by golfers going to buy medical equipment. We also like that this tournament supports the whole region,buying equipment for every community with a healthcare facility in the region," he continued.
As a presenting sponsor SaskTel is on the organizing committee for the tournament, which means that staff participate for six months in advance of the tournament organizing all the details to make sure the event is successful. In addition to their organizing and sponsorship role, SaskTel employees throughout the region participate in local events and raises pledges to improve local healthcare.
Organization is already well underway for the Charity Golf Classic, which will take place on Thursday June 9th this year. Once again the proceeds will be used to buy medical equipment for all the healthcare facilities throughout Sunrise Health Region.
