RHEIN / YORKTON - The Rhein Rockets might be the defending Richardson Pioneer Men's Fastball League champions, but they had not been showing it.
The Rockets were win less in five to start the current season – four wins and a tie – and feeling the pressure to win one before the calendar flipped to July.
The Rockets had one more chance as they hosted the Neudorf Posse June 30.
The Posse arrived in a mood for a shoot-out and through seven innings the teams amassed 22 runs in a game that saw four home runs, too many walks to please either pitcher and several errors leading to base runners and scores.
In the end Rocket veteran hurler Terry Peppler would go the distance for the much-needed win, but still watching the Posse plate 10 runs.
Peppler would help his own cause with a two-run home run, as the team managed a dozen runs for the 12-10 win.
Evan Neibrandt also slugged a two-run homer for the home side.
The Posse started Drew Hohn, who like Peppler would help his own cause with a two-run dinger.
Colby Davidson would toss in relief for Neudorf.
The Posse also had a home run from Cole Rathgeber.
The Rockets are scheduled to play a pair in Ituna Monday, (July 3), one against Wadena and the other versus Wynyard.
