The Preeceville Panthers football team recorded another win when they defeated the St. Brieux Crusaders by a score of 56-20 during a home game on September 13.
"We started out very strong," said Jeremy Mattison, coach. "The team put in a great performance with both offence and defense working well on and off the field. Young players stepped up to help fill the vacancy of Sean Paligan who was out due to an injury. Even though St. Brieux is a new team to the conference this year, we didn't take them for granted. They are a tough team with lots of possibilities. The guys worked hard and left everything on the field," he said.
Willen Paligan, Dylan Wiwcharuk and Christan Acosta were key players who helped put the majority of the points on the scoreboard for the home team.
Preeceville has a bye week this week and will take on Porcupine Plain and Carrot River in the following weeks.
"This is one of the strongest teams we have had in a long time with skill level and players playing as a team. We have a strong opportunity to be on the top of our conference," said Mattison.
Mattison added that the team is very appreciative of all the fan and community support.
