The Preeceville Panther football program held its annual fall conditioning camp that focused on player performance during the week of August 27 to 30.
Doug King is the head coach; Jeremy Mattison, defensive co-ordinator and Bill Dodge, offensive co-ordinator.
"There were 15 players that came out for practices," said Mattison. " We have all returning players this year with the exception of two Grade 9 players. It will be a challenging season with a lot of tough competitors. I firmly believe that with the team's great attitude and dedication we will be able to have a successful season," he said.
Throughout the week the team focused on conditioning, timing, systems and contact play. Kim Moekerk is the new fitness coach for the team.
The team is in the 1A, conference 4. Other teams in the conference are from: Preeceville, Kamsack, Porcupine Plain, Hudson Bay, Carrot River and St. Brieux.
Practices for the team will be held weekly on the field.
The first game for Preeceville will see the team traveling to Hudson Bay on September 7. Home games will be held September 13 against St. Brieux and September 27 against Porcupine Plain.
Other away games will be held September 21 at Kamsack and October 4 against Carrot River.
Playoffs are scheduled for October 12 and 19 with provincial playoffs to start on October 27.
