The Yorkton Taekwondo Association and KEE's Taekwondo are going to be hosting their 12th Annual Invitational Taekwondo Tournament.
Over 40 Taekwondo schools from Canada and the USA have been invited to take part, including North Dakota, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Manitoba.
Master Wayne Mitchell of KEE's Yorkton said he is hoping to attract 200-300 competitors.
The competition rules used at this tournament are in accordance with the World Taekwondo Federation, the same rules that were used at the 2008 Olympics and 2011 Pan-American Games.
WTF Taekwondo is an exciting and spectacular demonstration of martial arts competition.
The tournament will be held at the Gallagher Centre Flexihall on Saturday, Nov. 20.
The day will start off with the patterns event at 8:45 a.m. Opening ceremonies will continue at 12 noon. The coloured belt sparring is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., and the black belt sparring will be at 3 p.m.
Says Master Mitchell: "The black belt sparring is a ten fold increase in talent and excitement over the earlier days' proceedings."
All times are subject to change throughout the day. Local competitors have been training very hard for this event, he continued. "There will be some first time competitors as well as some "able veterans" entered into this event."
