Three events in the 55FA 55+ Games have been completed in the Parkland Valley Districts.In cribbage, which was held in Yorkton, there were 40 competitors. There is only one age category and that was 55+. Marian Terlesky and Elsie Heuchert of Melville won with a perfect score. Phyllis Pasichnyk and Mildred Ferris of Yorkton teamed up to win the silver. Betty Ulmer and Ardith Grumbo also of Melville won bronze.
In 5-pin bowling held in Melville, there were also 40 competitors. In the 65+ age category, the Yorkton team won gold. They are Mildred Thiele, Pauline Spilchen, Anne Shumay, Anne Yuzik and Martha Mosiondz.
The team consisting of Vicky Clifton, Joyce Wagner, Ethel Sauve, Vange Shipowick and Gloria Kostiw, also from Yorkton, won the silver. The bronze winners were from Esterhazy and include Bea Slater, Liz Bernath, Eleanor Leftwich, Verna Brenner and Rose Norton.
In the 75+ age category, the gold medal winners from Yorkton were Steve Slywka, Clinton Dalshaug, Muriel Dalshaug, Louise Rathgeber and Ed Aichele.
Although several more people qualified to advance to the provincials, only three teams from shuffleboard are going.
