The Kamsack Comprehensive Institute peewee football team will play five games during the season which began two weeks ago and will end next month.
The KCI Spartans peewee football team is comprised of about 30 players in grades 5, 6 and 7, said Tyler Lorenzo, who with Greg Thomas, instructs the team. Helping are senior students Taryn Broda and Colin Tulloch.
About 20 of the 30 students are first-time football players, Lorenzo said.
The team is to play its first two games in Watson on May 26 when it plays Watson and Wakaw. The team is scheduled to play Watson and the Yorkdale team at home on June 2, and then will go to Preeceville on June 9 to play Preeceville and Wakaw.
This is the second year that the KCI has had a peewee football team, he said. Students meet for 90 minutes each Tuesday and Wednesday for practices.
