KCI junior curlers win bronze medals at districts

The junior boys and junior girls curling teams at Kamsack Comprehensive Institute returned home with bronze medals from the district competitions on February 9 and 10.

            The junior boys and junior girls curling teams at Kamsack Comprehensive Institute returned home with bronze medals from the district competitions on February 9 and 10.

            Playing in Norquay, the junior boys team lost to the Norquay team, and then defeated Saltcoats. The team lost to Canora and then defeated Sturgis for the third-place medal.

            Coached by Jordan van der Buhs, the team is comprised of Connor Bodnarek, skip; Zach Chernoff, third; Curtis McGriskin, second, and Kyler Kitsch, lead.

            The junior girls travelled to Sturgis for their competition and defeated Esterhazy No. 1 before losing to Saltcoats and Esterhazy No. 2, but were still strong enough for the bronze medal.

            Coached by Scott Tulloch, the team is comprised of Anna Schwartz, skip; Chloe Koroluk, third; Kate Erhardt, second, and Leah Schwartz, lead.
