Kamsack team advances to provincial cadet bonspiel

The Kamsack air cadets curling team topped the zone competition in Preeceville on February 21, qualifying to advance to the provincial bonspiel СÀ¶ÊÓƵ played in Gravelbourg on March 5.

Mclean is from the Preeceville squadron and lent a hand to the Kamsack group and will also advance to provincials with the team.

            The Kamsack air cadets curling team topped the zone competition in Preeceville on February 21, qualifying to advance to the provincial bonspiel СÀ¶ÊÓƵ played in Gravelbourg on March 5.

The Preeceville 606 air cadet squadron hosted zone curling to determine which team would advance to provincials. There were six teams representing the six different squadrons from across the zone including the host team.

            Teams entered were from: Foam Lake, Canora, Melville, Kamsack, Yorkton and Preeceville.

The Kamsack, Preeceville and Foam Lake rinks all tied for first place but it was Kamsack that beat out Preeceville by three points in the points system to advance to provincials.

            Members of the Kamsack team were: Kira Kitsch, Cade Henry-Martino and Curtis McGriskin. Braydon Mclean of the Preeceville squadron helped the Kamsack team come out on top and advance to provincials.
