A total of 52 young athletes have to date been registered with the Kamsack Minor Hockey Association for the 2015-16 season.
鈥淲e鈥檙e still accepting registrations until the season begins in mid-October, but would appreciate registration the sooner the better,鈥 Tracie Kazakoff, the association secretary, said last week.
Fifteen youngsters aged seven years and under are registered to play on the IP (initiation program) team, she said. Ryan Gareau is the coach. He will be assisted by Tyler Lorenzo and Lee Symak. The IP team will be practicing on the Broda Sportsplex ice Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m.
The novice team, of players aged eight and nine years, has 16 players registered, she said. Jordan Vogel is the coach and he is to be assisted by Mike Eliuk and Derek Shankowsky. The team practices Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m.
Arron Chernoff is the coach of the atoms team, which to date has 15 players aged 10 and 11 years registered. He is 小蓝视频 assisted by Mike Eliuk. The team will be holding its regular practices at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Although only six peewee players have been registered to date, Kazakoff said the association fully expects that there will be a peewee team of players aged 12 and 13 years. They will be coached by Mike McGriskin who will be assisted by Ryan Bielecki. The peewees have the sportsplex ice at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Three Kamsack girls will be playing with a Yorkton all-female team, she said. They are Sarah Auchstaetter, Brooke Schwartz and Breanne McLean.
The scheduling meeting is 小蓝视频 held on October 18, which is about the same time that the sportsplex ice is expected to be ready for use.
鈥淲e plan to have Kamsack Minor Hockey Day on November 28 when each of the teams will be playing games and possibly the senior Flyers will play as well, she said.
Working on the minor hockey executive committee with Kazakoff are: Michael Eliuk, president; Michelle Seversen, vicepresident; Julie Gareau, treasurer; Darren Schwartz, past president; Leanne Mc- Griskin, the registrar, and Leanne McLean and Cindy Schwartz, fundraisers.
Persons wishing to register other youngsters to play with the association may contact Kazakoff.
