Colin Boehm, president of Kambuster's Drag Racing Association said the eighth annual event is set for this Sunday at the Yorkton Airport.
There are about 150 racers who will be competing on two separate drag strips, one driver against the other, Boehm said.
"They're pretty much from all over the province," he said, adding that he's expecting some from Alberta as well as a few from Manitoba.
The day begins with a few hours of time trial races at 9 a.m., he said. The elimination rounds will start around 12 noon and run until 2-3 p.m., he noted.
New this year will be the addition of one jet car, according to Boehm, last year they showcased one.
Also included will be four nitro-powered jet Harley's going head-to-head. Altogether, they will represent the features races for the day.
The day will also include "some sleds" and junior dragsters, he said.
Boehm said organizers are hoping for good weather conditions and added that it would still go on
With light rain, however a downpour would bring the entire show to an end. "We can't race in the rain," Boehm said.
Tickets for the racing are available on Sunday at the gates and costs are as follows: $15-adults, $5-kids and those 6 years of age and under are admitted free of charge, said Boehm.
Those planning on taking in the drag races are encouraged to bring along lawn chairs.
