Kade Johnson appears to be developing quite nicely into one of the best teenage golf players on this side of Regina.

He's got the skills, and he's got the intelligence to go along with it.

He's got a few plaques too.

He got one at Wildwood Golf Courses in Saskatoon last weekend. He was trailing top spot by four shots and ended up winning the tournament in the 12+ and Under age group by two strokes.

He was quick to point out that it was not an easy thing to do.

The greens were smaller then what he's used to and that helped him control his shot from within 10 feet but when it started to rain, it didn't help.

"I like it," he said.

"It made putting a little bit easier," he said of the smaller greens, adding that he clued into it on the very first hole.

He said it's usually a matter of playing the first hole or two when he knows how much/how little he needs to adjust his own game.

He said that on the opening day of the Wildwood Classic, he had to adjust his game quite a bit.

He played two rounds of 18 holes each and finished with 180.
