In one of the more disappointing, if not bizarre ways for a hockey game to be decided, the Outlook Ice Hawks were eliminated from the SHA Provincials against Watrous after going on the road last weekend.
The game in Watrous was to be played out in full on Saturday night, March 11, but in an unfortunate twist of fate, it wasn’t meant to be.
After the Winterhawks had been leading 4-0 against Outlook after the first period, the ice resurfacing machine ended up ruining the ice and put a stop to any more hockey action.
After consulting with both teams, SHA officials decided that Watrous would be the one who moved on in the provincial tournament, heading to the ‘B’ Final against Gull Lake.
The result saw not only an end to the Ice Hawks’ provincial aspirations, but also their overall season. The team is grateful for the support of their coaches, executive, sponsors, and the fans for making it an exciting season of hockey action.
