Fifty three-person teams participated in the 10th annual Kamsack Team Penning competitions held Saturday at the Broda Sportsplex.
Most of the competitors participated on six teams, and each team had two attempts at cutting out three animals from a herd of 20.
The fastest time of 21.44 seconds was recorded by the team comprised of Michelle Buck of Swan River, Man., Stan Foster of Benito, Man. and Wendy Naclia of Norquay.
To arrive at a final score, the times from both runs were added.
Placing first, with a time of 53.45 seconds, was the team of Mark Fraser of Esterhazy, Trevor Nicholauson of Esterhazy and Stu Morrison of Stoughton.
Placing second to sixth respectively were the teams of: Erin Schullman of Swan River, Man., John King of Corning and Judy Anderson of Pelly (57.14 seconds); John King of Corning, Herb King of Corning and Stu Morrison of Stoughton (57.88 seconds); Carmi Hrabarchuk of Fort MacMurray, Alta., Erin Schullman of Swan River and Sharon Foster of Benito (59.53 seconds); Gerry Peesker of Kamsack, Herb King of Corning and Stan Foster of Benito, Man. (60.08 seconds), and Kim Kindiak of Kamsack, Gerry Peesker of Kamsack and Erin Schullman of Swan River, Man. (63.68 seconds).
In the youth competition, in which only one run was used, placing first, second and third respectively, were: Kreece Hrabarchuk, left, of Fort MacMurray, Alta. and Ryder Helmeczi of Esterhazy (26.28 seconds); Kreece Hrabarchuk, left, of Fort MacMurray, Alta. and Ciera Romanow of Corning (27.53 seconds), and Ciera Romanow of Corning and Trey Hrabarchuk of Fort MacMurray, Alta. (29.01) seconds.
The 63 head of cattle were provided by Stan and Sharon Foster of Benito.
