Brendon Arnott was among the local motocross racers that took part in the recent provincial motocross race held at the Millstone Raceway.
Arnott has been racing for five years and took the experience into these races where he finished with the totals he expected to attain, he said.
"I just wanted to win the overall (total)which I did." He said having the track in good shape helped quite a bit.
He said the competition was good and there were six other racers he felt could have come out on top too.
Arnott said it's important to be mentally strong in these races and due to the high-risk potential involved in racing at high speeds, it's also good to be in good shape.
"You have to be in shape," he said. There's lots of gym work and lots of road biking."
He said he wasn't happy with one of his races where he fell behind five other racers but was able to regain his positioning and got the lead.
Arnott's placings included 2nd and 2nd for second overall in the Pro MX-2 as well as a 1st and 3rd for 1st overall in Pro MX-2.
