January 2010Yorkton and Melville split their home and home series as each team picks up a victory to start the new year.
Yorkton Harvest put forth an excellent effort at this year's Mac's Midget hockey tournament, winning three games. They advance to the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League playoffs for the first time under coach Graham Garrett.
The Terriers swing four deals at the league's trade deadline in anticipation of what became a playoff run for the ages that nobody in their right mind ever saw coming. Yorkton acquires Troy Smukowich, Ryan Griffiths, Kyle Miller and then-18 year old Robbie Ciolfi-who is also the only player who remains with the team currently. The moves turned out to be huge for the team as they got past three rounds of hockey playoffs advancing to the SJHL finals against La Ronge.
February 2010 The Midget AA Yorkton Terriers crank out 19 goals on two weekend games while playing the Regina Flames (11-0) and the Estevan Apex Bruins (8-0).
Former Yorkton Regional High School football player Cam Redl competes in Team USA vs the World football classic which was held in Florida and televised on the NFL Network.
The Gallagher Centre is the site of the 2010 provincial figure skating championships.
The Yorkton United U12/U13 Chelsea and Bulldogs FC's do well at Regina's Winterfest.
The Harlems Crowns, a smaller version of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters play for a small crowd at Sacred Heart High School.
The Junior 'A' Yorkton Terriers win on a night dedicated to teammate/goaltender Luke Boechler.
Local Bongo volleyball tournament comes back to the Yorkton Regional High School.
The Yorkton Harvest clinch a playoff berth with a pair of victories over the Beardy's Blackhawks at the Gallagher Centre.
March 2010The Yorkton Jr. Terriers and Kindersley Klippers head to a deciding Game 7 of their playoff series.The Midget AA Terriers fall to Lumsden, ending their season.
Former NHLer Sheldon Kennedy takes part in a high school hockey fundraiser that had the YRHS and SHHS teachers taking on the students from both schools.
MC Knoll students Hunter Frankfurt and Brayden Jarvis win at the Yorkton Regional High School NASP archery tournament.
Curlers from the Yorkton Regional High School gain valuable experience while at the provincial championships held in Watrous.
Yorkton holds onto a 2-1 series lead against Melville in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Survivor Series.
The Yorkton Sports Hall of Fame announces inductees for the year: Alfredo Bermudez (soccer player and builder), Rod Merrit (broomball), Darrell Spelay (Jr hockey), Terry Struthers (radio broadcasting).
April 2010A group of locals gets preparations going for the "Yorkton is Riderville" campaign in which their goal was to promote the Saskatchewan Roughriders and show pride in the team. The winning community would receive $25,000 to put towards minor sports.
Terriers advance to the finals of the SJHL playoffs, getting past Melville, Weyburn, Kindersley (winning the series in game 7 overtime) and taking La Ronge to overtime in game 6 of the SJHL finals.
The Yorkton Harvest name their award winners for the 2009-10 season, including Riley Storzuk (top scorer, co-winner of top forward award, and YRHS Scholastic award.
