Once again this year students and staffs of Victoria School are raising funds in support of Telemiracle.
The 44th edition of the Kinsmen Foundation sponsored fundraiser will be held in Regina from March 7 to 8 at the Conexus Arts Centre.
Telemiracle is one of Saskatchewan鈥檚 greatest traditions, said the School鈥檚 newsletter. Money raised for Telemiracle gives people in Saskatchewan a better quality of life. Our School was given money from Telemiracle to support the creation of 鈥淪party Park,鈥 the newsletter continued. Last year, Victoria School raised $973, and again wish to raise funds to donate to this worthy cause.
Fundraising events happening at the School throughout the month of February include: selling Helping Hands for $1, and students who purchase them will have a chance to win some 鈥渃ool prizes,鈥 (for each purchase of a Helping Hand the student may enter his or her name in the draw to become principal or vice-principal for the day); a special Telemiracle Hot Lunch on February 28 for $5 that will include a hot dog, drink and sorbet, and Candy Grams may be purchased before February 13 for 50 cents each and they will be delivered on February 14.
This 20-hour telethon brings the province of Saskatchewan together every year to help our friends and neighbours, said information on the Internet. All proceeds stay in Saskatchewan and are granted through the Kinsmen Foundation for specialized medical and mobility equipment, and assistance with medical travel.
