聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Two students of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute are among the group of 25 non-Alberta residents to be awarded University of Alberta scholarships of $30,000 each.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Breanna Bland and Chastin Straightnose, who are in Grade 12 in KCI, were notified last week of their awards.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A stipulation of the award is that the student must attend the university in Edmonton and maintains academic excellence, Bland explained. Only $7,500 of the award is awarded in each year.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bland plans to enrole in a four-year education course, while Straightnose will be going to the university for five years taking Native studies and education.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Their expeiences at the university will begin on August 28 when they plan to attend a breakfast with the president.
