The Town of Preeceville council discussed many topics of interest at its regular meeting held on March 10.
Council met with Dr. Takra, Dr. Ranauta and Tammy Pantiuk of TRP Dental Professional Corporation to discuss their purchase of the Preeceville Dental Clinic. Discussion surrounding the Preeceville Public Library building lease agreement for dental office space also took place.
Lexie Young of the Etoimamie Valley Rider Gymkhana Club met with town council to discuss the use of the Preeceville Sports grounds facility for the club's activities. Council approved the club鈥檚 request with the Preeceville Sports grounds committee co-ordinating the use of the sportsgrounds.
Council rescinded a motion regarding the new lease agreement between the Town of Preeceville and Dr. Charanjit Shokar for the Preeceville Library building dental business as the business has previously changed names. The Town of Preeceville also terminated the house lease agreement between with Dr. Shokar.
Reports that were filed and acknowledged by council included: the bylaw report, the foreman, the mayor, the administrative, community development and recreation co-ordinator reports.
Approval was give for the proposal presented by Mark Zawerucha from Remax Blur Chip Reality to assist the town in selling town owned residential and commercial vacant lots.
The town council changed its regular meeting date to the second Thursday of each month commencing at 9 a.m.
Council acknowledged the resignation of the Arena manager and shop labourer Chris Smith effectively February 27. Town acknowledged that there will be advertising to fill
the position of shop labourer.
The town hired Nor Sask Board Services for the Town's Assessment Appeals Board and secretary services. They also acknowledged and set the appeal fee for Assessment Appeals.
The mutual aid agreement between the Town of Preeceville and the surrounding municipalities was approved.
The Town of Preeceville recommended the approval of the proposed residential subdivision of SW 05-35-05 W2M located in the RM of Preeceville.
The town donated $150 to Preeceville Minor Hockey Association and $100 to the Preeceville Figure Skating Club for their year-end activities.
Committee reports filed were the Preeceville Economic Development and Tourism, and Municipal Leadership Development training course.
